After Manchester City's UEFA Champions League game in Portugal went smoothly, the return journey from Lisbon was turned into Liverpool by high winds.
Manchester City and their host Sporting Lisbon 5-0, thanks to Bernardo Silva's duet, almost guaranteed Pep Guardiola's team will qualify for the UEFA Champions League Eight, Tuesday.
There was no way to stop the champion of England, as his rival was completely swept at Jose Alfalade Stadium, and the match was practically over with a break.
But things were less smooth after the game, when the plane that took the team to Manchester had to change course, and land in the nearby city, Liverpool, due to high winds.
In a statement, Citi said: "We can confirm that the aircraft that transported the first team home from Lisbon landed safely in Liverpool after strong winds diverted it from Manchester."
