According to a source, the Senegalese president, Maki Sal, has today given NFL players unprecedented gifts of cash and plots, following the team's weekend African Cup of
Nations victory at the ceremony at the presidential palace in the capital. Dakar, the team also imitated the prestigious Order of the Lion in the West African country, amid chants for thousands of fans outside the gates.
Standing on the platform beside the Nations Cup, President Sal said: "With your vital power and your creative genius, you turned the course of history, our dream of the trophy, and you built this dream, and you fulfilled it."
It should be noted that the Senegal team, led by Sadio Mane, the Liverpool star, beat the Egyptian team, led by his colleague Mohamed Salah in Liverpool, by a score of 4-2, with kicks in Sunday's final game in Cameroon, after official time ended with no goals.
