Earlier this month, separatist movements in Cameroon threatened attacks against Limbi and Buya, two cities that will host the African Nations Cup.
The Anglophone separatists in Cameroon have reportedly sent a serious threat to the organizers of the tournament, threatening to "ruin the games," and putting the elected women in cities under their control at real risk.
This comes before the Movement poses a direct threat to its players in the English - speaking regions of western Cameroon, including Tunisia and Mauritania, because the Movement considers the success of the tournament to be a success for the Cameroonian Government, which has been fighting them in past years.
The French movement La Brigid Ante Sardinar, for its part, sent a warning letter to the African Football Union, calling on it to cancel the tournament immediately in order to avoid violence from English-speaking separatists.
The French-speaking movement said: "There is a real threat to the elections of Tunisia, Mauritania, Gambia and Mali in Medina Limbi. We call on the African Football Union to prevent the tournament from taking place. We're facing an irresponsible government that wants to take advantage of Prestige to set up an international tournament to raise its popularity with citizens.
Tunisia's group matches, which include Mauritania, Gambia and Mali, are held in the town of Limbi, on the English-speaking side of Cameroon, where there is chaos and violence by armed groups seeking to separate the province from the French-speaking rest of Cameroon.
The African Nations Cup is scheduled to be held throughout Cameroon, next January 9, but growing problems, such as internal violence and poor organization, threaten to cancel the tournament altogether.
