At the International Centre for Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), winners of the Best in Africa Awards for the year 2021, Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the English star of

Liverpool, won the title of Best African Player of the Year, while Algerian Riad Meherz, Manchester City, won the title of best game maker on the black continent.

Algeria's Jamal Belladi, the technical director of his country's national team, was named the best coach of the team, after the team's impressive level and series of victories this year.

Senegalese keeper Edward Mende, Chelsea's English star, won the title of best African keeper in 2021.

South African Betsu Musemani, the technical director of the Egyptian national, was awarded the title of best African coach at the club level, after leading the African Champions League and the African Super League to a third place in the Club World Championship.

South African Victor Gomez was awarded the title of Best African Referee, and Burkini Lasina Traoré, the Ukrainian player of Shakhtar Donetsk, was awarded the title of Best Rising Player under 20 years of age.
