After losing in the semifinals, in a difficult match, the Egyptian handball team was given the dream of a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

The Egyptian side lost to the French side by 23-27, in the semi-final.

The Egyptian team's attack on Duke's defense suffered from a solid France, and its glamorous guard, Vincent Gérard.

The Hand Pharaohs can still achieve a medal for their country, when they take the third and fourth place match on Saturday, in front of the loser from the Denmark-Spain meeting, at 10 a.m. Cairo time.

Despite his loss, the Egyptian team entered history as the first Arab and African to reach the semifinals of handball competitions at an Olympic Games.
