After violating the Corona virus protocols, the Georgian Olympic Committee announced that two of its judo athletes had been expelled from Japan and repatriated.

The Georgian Olympic Committee did not name the expellees, but media reports stated that two Georgian judo players with two silver medals were seen walking near the Tokyo TV tower outside the Olympic village, in flagrant violation of severe restrictions to prevent the spread of the corona virus.

To date, Georgia has four medals at the Tokyo Olympics (1 gold and 3 silverware), all in judo, where Lasha Bikaori has been crowned gold in the weight category without 90 kg.

Goram Toshishvili (weight class above 100 kg), Margvelashvili (under 66 kg) and Lasha Shavdatwashvili (under 73 kg) were crowned with silver.
