Dmitriy Budov, president of the Angara Group, said that the main sign of a smartphone being hacked is the appearance of a malfunction in the work of the applications, in particular, it being frozen from work and his sudden return to work.

He added that among other signs of a decrease in device performance or the battery draining faster than usual.

However, the expert urged not to be anxious when such cases arise, because there may be other causes.

He stressed that it is necessary to act immediately if withdrawals and transfers of funds from accounts via the phone appear in an incomprehensible way for the owner of the device, and said: "It is logical in these cases to take seriously the security of your device."

He explained that most cases of smart phone penetration are not intended to be blackmail, as criminals are interested in accessing mobile banking applications and subscriptions to paid services.

He added, "You can prevent hackers and regain control of the device yourself by eliminating the settings added to the phone, returning to the" factory mode "it was in when you bought it, and changing all the passwords. If that does not help, you should contact the service center."
