Initially, you should know that threads is a text version of the meta photo sharing app Instagram Instagram and provides a "new and separate space for real-time updates and public conversations".
It was launched last Thursday by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg to compete with the social network Twitter in micro-tweets.
Threads is now available for download in more than 100 countries including the UK, but not yet in the EU due to regulatory uncertainty.
It allows users to post up to 500 characters, links, photos and videos up to 5 minutes in length.
You can also easily share the threads post on your Instagram story, or share your post as a link on any other platform of your choice.
In response to users ' questions about the difference between threads and Twitter, we review the top 5 differences between the two applications for you to find out which one is best for you:
Twitter Twitter is basically a microblogging platform focused on the exchange of information in real time, serving a wide range of customers, including individuals, companies, public figures and news organizations.
In contrast, threads is a platform that targets Instagram's existing user base and places a strong emphasis on visual content.
Twitter users can include links, photos, videos, GIFs and up to 280 characters of text in their tweets.
However, threads focuses more on visual materials and encourages users to upload photos, videos and comments that improve instagram instagram.
Threads users have the option to make a list of "close friends" and share things only with these individuals, this function gives more control over the visibility of your content, which also enhances the sense of privacy.
Twitter allows users to make their tweets private, although the site is usually known for being open and public in nature.
Users can follow accounts on Twitter Twitter without asking permission, and with this follow form, it is possible to reach and communicate with a wide range of users.
"Threads", on the other hand, adopts a more consistent strategy that puts more emphasis on personal communication and requires users to accept or invite each other before communicating.
Tweets on Twitter are usually displayed in a timeline in the order of their publication, and although the application has added certain algorithmic components to the feed, users still have access to a timeline that is only in chronological order.
As an extension of Instagram, threads uses an account feed that classifies information according to user preferences and relevance.
On the occasion of the launch, meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the threads Thread app aims to outperform the Twitter app, adding that it passed 10 million subscriptions in its first seven hours.
When asked if the threads app will be bigger than Twitter, Zuckerberg said: "it will take some time, but I think there should be a public conversation app with more than a billion people, Twitter has had the opportunity to do this but it didn't work out.
The launch comes as Twitter boss Elon Musk has imposed limits on the number of tweets users can see on his platform per day, and is Musk's latest attempt to push users to subscribe to Twitter Blue, the platform's subscription service.
Since Musk took over the Twitter platform, many Twitter users have publicly expressed dissatisfaction with the platform and his oversight - citing wrong behaviors and political views.
