The analytics company "SimilarWeb" reported that "chat GBT", a widespread chat bot launched in November, witnessed a decline in monthly turnout on its website for the first time ever during last June.

"SimilarWeb" data showed that the global turnout for visiting the computer version and the mobile version of the site decreased by 9.7 percent during June compared to May, and the time spent by visitors browsing the site also decreased by 8.5 percent.

The company "OpenAI", the developer of the chatbot, did not respond to a request for comment.

"Chatgpt" has created a state of overwhelming demand for the use of generative artificial intelligence in everyday tasks ranging from traditional writing to writing encryption codes, and recorded up to 100 million monthly active users in January, just two months after its launch.

"Chat GBT" is the fastest growing application offered to users ever, boasts of reaching 1.5 billion visits per month, and is one of the top 20 websites in the world.

Visits to "chatgpt", for example, far exceeded visits to the search engine" Bing "run by the company" Microsoft "supporting the company" OpenAI", which uses its technologies.

Several competing applications for the "chat GPT" application have been launched over the past few months, including the chat bot "cool" owned by Google. The search engine "Bing" of the company "Microsoft" also offers a free chat bot from the development of "OpenAI".

Sarah hendlian-bawler, head of technology research for the Americas at Macquarie, said: "I think it's increasingly difficult to reach 100 million users from scratch at this speed . A very heavy infrastructure will result in less accuracy. It's a mixture of the need to change what the model is trained for and the need to deal with the potential consequences of regulations,"he said.

The company "OpenAI" also introduced in May the application " chat GBT "on the operating system" iOS"of Apple, which may pull some visitors from the website. Some also link the change in the number of employees to the summer holidays at school, as fewer students will be looking for help with their homework.

The number of times the chatbot was downloaded to the iOS system exceeded 17 million times globally until the Fourth of July, according to the platform "data AI".

The analytics company said that the number of downloads peaked on May 31 and the chatbot is still very popular in the United States with an average of 530 thousand downloads per week during the first six weeks of its launch.

The recent slowdown in growth may help to control the costs of operating "chatgpt", which requires huge computing resources to answer queries. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman described the costs of operating the services as"extremely high".

The "chat GBT" application is free to use, but it also provides a premium subscription in which users can pay 20 dollars per month to enjoy the services of the most advanced model, which is "gbt4". More than half a million people have registered for the subscription in the United States, according to estimates from the website "web IT data".

"OpenAI" expected to collect revenues worth 200 million dollars this year. In addition to" chatgpt", the company makes money by selling access to its artificial intelligence models via an API to developers and companies directly and through a partnership with Microsoft, which has invested more than 10 billion dollars in the startup.
