Officials from the China National Space Administration (CNSA) have stated that China and Russia are collaborating to build a research station on the Moon by 2035, in order to bring space under control.

Plans were announced today to build the International Moon Research Station (ILRS), which will compete with NASA's Moon Portal for Space Science, according to one British newspaper.

The project is allegedly part of China's plan to land its first pioneers on the Moon, and Wu Yan Hua, Deputy Director of China's National Space Agency, said in a press release in Beijing that the two countries were aiming to complete the construction of the station's basic infrastructure by 2035.

But while NASA's Moon Gate will only orbit the Moon, ILRS will have an orbital vehicle and a base on the Moon, in addition to multiple exploration vehicles.

This follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding by Beijing and Moscow in March 2021 to launch the project, and the document states that Al Qaeda is designed to conduct interdisciplinary research work.

Russia has previously expressed interest in cooperating with NASA's Lunar Gateway program, and an informal joint statement was signed by Roscosmos and NASA on September 27, 2017, but Roscosmos officially announced in January 2021 that it would no longer participate with NASA.

According to an expert from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, China wants the first astronauts to land on the Moon as early as in 2030, the country has long planned to send humans to the Moon, but this was supposed to be later in the 1930s, after many probe missions and spacecraft.
