A spokesman for the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs said

in a statement today that from next October all plastic items will be banned across the country. The UK has already banned some single-use plastic items, including straws, stirrers, and cotton buds.
UK effort's to save the environment earth, so the country took this decision to face the plastic waste crisis, instead, they will replace biodegradable items

.The UK government pointed out:
“The Government determined to go further and faster to reduce, reuse, and recycle more of our resources.”

The ban will also include single-use trays, balloon sticks, and some types of polystyrene cups and food containers. From October, people will not be able to buy these products from restaurants, retailers, or food vendors.

A similar ban is already in place in Scotland and another one is set to take effect next year in Wales.

The government said 1.1 billion single-use plates and 4.25 billion items of single-use cutlery are used in England each year, equivalent to 20 plates and 75 pieces of cutlery per person. Only 10% of this giant mountain of plastic ends up recycled, the government said in the consultation document, adding that plastic cutlery was among the 15 most littered items in the UK.
The UN has warned the world is facing a giant plastic pollution problem if governments don’t act quickly...So the European Union took a decision of banning the usage of plastic.
separately other places such as Japanese cities, California state in the USA, and Sharm Elsheikh city in Egypt took the same decision, maybe it helps in saving the ecosystem of the environment.
