The Israeli army announced that it was launching "major strikes that will continue in the

coming days" on the Gaza Strip, pointing out that it had divided the besieged Strip into two

 parts.

Army spokesman Daniel Hagari said that " major strikes are currently being launched, and

will continue tonight and in the coming days, "stressing that the Israeli forces carrying out

ground operations in the Strip divided it into two parts:"southern Gaza and northern Gaza".

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met on Sunday with Palestinian President

Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank city of Ramallah during an unannounced visit

surrounded by tight security measures, according to the Palestinian presidential office.

Blinken's visit to the occupied West Bank is the first since the outbreak of the war between

Israel and the "Hamas" movement in the Gaza Strip during the seventh of October and

comes after a round of talks he held in Israel and Jordan amid fears of a widening scope of

 the war.

Two Egyptian security sources and a third medical source told Reuters that the evacuation of

injured residents of the Gaza Strip and foreign passport holders through the Rafah crossing

to Egypt has been suspended since Saturday.

One of the security sources and the medical source explained that the suspension of

evacuations of the injured after an Israeli strike on Friday on ambulances in Gaza that were

 used to transport the injured.

The Rafah crossing leading to the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt is the only exit port to Gaza that is

not controlled by Israel. Two of the sources said aid trucks were still able to enter Gaza.
