The unnamed source said that up to 500 foreign passport holders will enter Egypt from Gaza

through the Rafah border crossing today after an agreement was reached to open the

 crossing.

The source added that about 200 people have been waiting on the Palestinian side of the

 border since this morning.

A second source familiar with the agreement and the evacuations said there was a list of up

to 500 people who would leave the Gaza Strip, but not all of them were expected to leave

 today.

An informed source said earlier that the exit of foreign passport holders was mediated by

 Qatar.

The source explained that Qatar "brokered an agreement between Egypt, Israel and the

Islamic resistance movement (Hamas) in coordination with the United States of America to

allow the movement of foreign passport holders and some seriously injured outside the

 besieged Gaza Strip".

On a related note, the Cairo news channel broadcast live scenes showing ambulances

entering the Rafah crossing with the expectation of transporting 81 injured Palestinians to

Egyptian hospitals, according to Egyptian and Palestinian officials.
