According to the British newspaper "The Guardian", China has historically supported the Palestinian cause for decades, as did the Soviet Union throughout the Cold War, and now also China and Russia have strengthened their positions towards the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, as the war between the resistance and the occupation army exacerbated geopolitical tensions, highlighting the growing gap between Cold War allies and Western powers.

China and Russia criticized Israel's actions in response to the surprise attack launched by the Palestinian resistance on October 7, and both Beijing and Moscow demanded an immediate ceasefire, and supported mediation efforts led by Egypt and the United Nations.

In this regard, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that Israel's actions have gone beyond the scope of self-defense, and urged it to show restraint, adding that a peaceful solution is the only option.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced earlier this week that the Chinese envoy to the Middle East will visit the region to learn about the latest developments and discuss ways to end the conflict, and earlier, Beijing refrained from condemning the attack launched by Palestinian resistance factions, which angered Israel.

Vasily Nebenzya, the Russian envoy to the UN, said that "the priority is to de-escalate, and warned that the conflict threatens to spread to other countries in the region. On Monday, Moscow submitted a draft resolution to the Security Council on the war in the Gaza Strip, but it was rejected.

Russian officials insist that Moscow can help in mediation, because it has relations with Israel, the Palestinians and the major Arab powers.

The positions of China and Russia differed from those taken by the United States, affirming Israel's right to defend itself against attacks by Palestinian resistance factions, and three times in a row unilaterally blocked a draft statement of the Security Council demanding a ceasefire.

In the framework of demonstrating American support for Israel, Washington sent its foreign and defense ministers to Tel Aviv, to confirm American support for Israel, in addition, "Biden" is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, Wednesday, Tel Aviv on an extraordinary visit, and unlimited support did not stop at the visits, but the United States sent aircraft carriers, weapons and special teams in the Middle East to support Israel in the face of Palestinian resistance factions.
