The battles are still taking place in various areas of Sudan, while the clashes between the Sudanese army and the "Rapid Support" forces have intensified on several fronts in Khartoum, Omdurman and Bahri, the army launched air strikes on positions of the Rapid Support forces near the army headquarters in Khartoum, and the vicinity of Khartoum International Airport witnessed an exchange of fire between the army and the Rapid Support.

While a huge explosion occurred as a result of the bombing by military aviation of a fuel depot belonging to the "Rapid Support" forces near the general command of the Armed Forces, flames and plumes of smoke thickened as the two sides exchanged artillery shelling using heavy weapons on the locations of each other's forces, the most violent in weeks.

According to sources in the Sudanese army, its forces carried out successive artillery bombardments targeting the "Rapid Support" sites in the center, south and east of Khartoum, and army warplanes bombed targets of"rapid support" in the Suba area east of the capital.

On the other hand, the "Rapid Support" Forces confirmed that their forces directed artillery shelling on army positions at the general command of the Armed Forces, as well as shelling with missiles from positions stationed in the Navy of Army targets in the center of Omdurman city.

Citizens pointed out that military aviation continued to fly throughout the day in the cities of Khartoum and Omdurman, and several times they heard the sounds of heavy artillery shelling and explosions in various areas of the capital.

The Sudanese army said that it repelled for the seventh day an attack carried out by the "Rapid Support" forces on the Armored Corps located in the tree area south of Khartoum, from its southwestern side, where it inflicted heavy losses on the ranks of those forces.

The Sudanese army also announced that seven civilians were killed and others were injured as a result of indiscriminate shelling carried out by the "Rapid Support" forces in the old Omdurman neighborhoods.

Meanwhile, leaks that the chairman of the Sudanese sovereign Council and army commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, who managed to leave the General Command headquarters for the first time since the outbreak of the war on April 15, began consultations with military and political leaders to form a new government, called a "caretaker government," sparked widespread controversy among the civilian forces.

Sudanese diplomatic sources expected that Burhan will visit a number of countries in the coming days after his arrival in Port Sudan on Monday, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar.

On the other hand, the Sudanese Ministry of foreign affairs condemned the statement of the American ambassador in Khartoum John Godfrey in a tweet that the warring parties in Sudan are not fit to rule, and demanded the ambassador to refrain from statements that are contrary to diplomatic norms and rules and do not help to get out of the crisis the country is experiencing.

The Sudanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement, "this inappropriate comment not only represents a departure from diplomatic norms and rules of dealing between countries and mutual respect for each other's sovereignty, but also contradicts the requirements of civility and diplomatic professionalism, and also expresses the US ambassador's disrespect for the Sudanese people and their independence by installing himself as a guardian to determine for him who is fit or not fit to rule".

The statement pointed out that the consideration of the Sudanese armed forces as an equivalent party to criminal militias embodies a lack of fairness and moral consistency, and includes an insult to the Sudanese people who rally around their armed forces defending their security, safety, symptoms and the right to a decent life, and it also serves as an encouragement to rebel militias to continue their crimes as a party to a political conflict.

"The Sudanese foreign ministry expects the American ambassador and his government to correct this unbalanced and flawed position and to distance themselves from statements that are contrary to diplomatic norms and rules and do not help to get out of the crisis experienced by our country, especially at a time when the two countries are working to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between them in all fields,"the statement continued.

According to a statement by the US State Department, reliable sources, including the victims, attributed this violence to the "Rapid Support" forces and allied militias.

The numerous reports of rapes, gang rapes and other forms of violence against women and girls in West Darfur and other regions are deeply disturbing.

The US statement called on the Sudanese army and the "Rapid Support" forces to immediately stop the fighting and allow safe passage for all civilians out of the two cities.

Attempts to mediate between the military and quick support have been unsuccessful, with diplomats saying each side believes it can resolve the war in its favor.

More than 4 million people have fled their homes, basic services have collapsed, and the fighting has given way to violent attacks by the Rapid Support forces and allied armed factions in Darfur.

UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Martin Griffiths said on Friday: "this conflict that is spreading like wildfire and its aftermath of hunger, disease and displacement now threatens to come on the whole country.

In a statement, he expressed concern about the spread of violence in Al-Jazira state, just south of Khartoum, which is considered the country's food basket, where the Rapid Support forces have penetrated.

"Hundreds of thousands of children are acutely malnourished and face the risk of death if left untreated," he said.

He warned that diseases such as measles, malaria, dengue fever and acute watery diarrhea are spreading.

A spokesman for the United Nations Children's fund (UNICEF) said that the lack of supplies is expected to lead to a significant increase in the number of child deaths.
