In a statement, Crimean governor Sergei Aksyonov announced via Telegram that "two missiles were shot down by the air defense forces near the Kerch Strait" and specified that the Crimean bridge was not damaged.

The adviser to the governor of Crimea also said that the special forces fired a smoke screen as an additional means of defense, pointing out that traffic on the bridge "will resume soon".

For its part, the Russian air defenses reported on Saturday that they repelled the missile attack over the Crimean Bridge and determined that the bridge was attacked using an S-200 anti-aircraft missile and was converted to launch ground strikes.

"The Ukrainian missile was detected in time and intercepted in the air by Russian air defense systems, there were no injuries or damage,"she added via Telegram.

It should be noted that the last attack in July caused significant damage to the part of the road traveled by cars, noting that it is also used to transport military equipment to the Russian army fighting in Ukraine, and Putin ordered after the latest attack to strengthen the security of the bridge.
