Sergei Sobyanin said via Telegram: "the attempt of two military drones to fly over our city was recorded . Both were shot down by air defense, one in the Domodedovo region (south of the capital), the second in the area of the Minsk highway," he said, without giving details about the source of the attack.

"Currently, there is no information about victims" in connection with the two downed marches, he added, noting that emergency services are at the scene of the incident.

Attacks on Ukrainian marches on Russian soil have increased in recent weeks, often targeting Moscow and the Russian-annexed Crimea peninsula.

According to the authorities, Moscow witnessed several attacks with marches last week, including one that damaged a commercial building in a business district.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday in a video that his country will respond to Russia's attacks in the Black Sea to ensure that its waters are not blockaded and its ability to import and export grain and other goods.

This came days after attacks by Ukrainian drones loaded with explosives hit a Russian warship near a major Russian port and a Russian tanker.

"If Russia continues to dominate the Black Sea, outside its territory, blockades us or fires at us again, fires missiles at our ports, Ukraine will do the same, this is a fair defense of our chances, in any corridor,"Zelensky said.

"We don't have many ships, but they should clearly understand that by the end of the war, they won't have zero ships,"he added.

In remarks to journalists from Latin American countries, the Ukrainian president called on Russia to stop firing missiles and drones at Ukrainian ports and allow trade.

It is not yet clear when he made this statement at his office in Kiev.
