The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his American counterpart Anthony Blinken discussed, in a phone call, the developments of a joint initiative to host the two sides of the Sudanese conflict in the city of Jeddah in the Kingdom.

The statement said on Friday that the joint initiative aims to "reduce the level of tensions" in Sudan.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA): "The two ministers discussed the latest developments in the Republic of Sudan, as they stressed the importance of stopping the military escalation between the conflicting parties and ending the violence."

"The two sides reviewed the developments of the Saudi-American initiative to host representatives of the two parties in the city of Jeddah, which aims to prepare the necessary ground for dialogue to reduce the level of tensions there, in a way that guarantees the security and stability of Sudan and its people," she added.
