The leaked documents stated that US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin ordered a ban on flights near the airspace of the Crimean Peninsula and that American, French, and British aircraft carried out reconnaissance missions over the Black Sea

Leaks that two Russian analysts considered evidence of the scale of assistance provided by Washington to Kyiv, while a Ukrainian analyst accuses Moscow of standing behind these leaks to thwart the counterattack that his country is preparing against Russia

According to new documents that have appeared in recent hours, Austin ordered US troops to stay at a distance of 80 kilometers from the Crimean Peninsula

The documents revealed details related to the expected Ukrainian counteroffensive this spring, the schedule for the delivery of Western weapons to Kyiv, A list of army units and outposts

Referring to the downplaying of the documents, Dr. Asif Melhem, director of the Moscow-based GC m Center for Studies, says that the leaks that talked about the counterattack or the Ukrainian army's positions are not new, Everyone knows that Kyiv is preparing for this attack

According to Melhem, " Considering those leaks, we find that the main beneficiary of them is Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the army leadership, for two reasons:

First: the blackmail of the United States, relations between Washington and Kyiv are not in the best condition as a result of the delay in the delivery of weapons to the Ukrainian army

The other: is preparation before defeat. Zelensky resorts to the so-called "hedging"; that is, in the event of defeat in the counterattack, this will be due to leaks; especially since Kyiv knows very well that this attack will not bear fruit in light of the current situation on the ground

"Disinformation" is seen by Alexander Hoffman, the Russian adviser on communications and strategic policies, as the main target behind the leaks, deducing that:

The documents date back to March 1, they are outdated and do not correspond to the current situation, wondering what is the point of leaking relatively outdated plans

Hoffman replies that, in these circumstances, "leaks" fall under the criteria of compliance with a controlled process of disinformation using supposedly sensitive information, for the purpose of delivering a message to the public that "everything is under our control, but Ukraine needs more military assistance."

The leaks are also aimed at internal public opinion in America, portraying the matter that there is a danger to national security, he continued: "Well, if this is true, will the representatives of the US military command be held responsible for this?" Is US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ready to resign

The other camp believes that Russian intelligence and its agents are behind this trap of leaks, and here Vadim Aristovich, an academic in international affairs at the Ukrainian Tavriysky University, bases his accusation on the fact that "Moscow is making intensive efforts at the espionage level on the counterattack, which will form a new equation on the ground and during negotiations."

But Aristovich is likely that the leak of these plans "will not affect Ukraine's movements towards the spring offensive, because the theater of operations is constantly changing on all fronts, other than that the situation has also changed internationally with Finland's entry into NATO."
