In his word at WGS Irakli Garibashvili, Georgia's Prime Minister said That his country is continuing its effort and is "determined" to make progress on the membership of the EU.
"We are determined to swiftly progress the EU accession plans," he said at the government summit.
Georgia entered a formal application for membership last year, following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. EU officials have said they are ready to accept its status as a candidate nation, alongside Ukraine and Moldova.
The process is expected to take several years at least, with the EU requiring nations to meet a wide range of legal, political, and economic requirements. Approval would then be sought from existing member nations.
If accepted, Georgia would be the farthest east nation in the European bloc, and the closest to the Middle East.
Georgia has seen GDP growth of around 10 percent each year in recent years, higher than any EU member state, with its tourism industry growing significantly.
EU ambitions "stems directly from our steadfast progress and demonstrated commitment to democracy", Mr. Garibashvili said.
"I want to emphasize that our vision for Georgia is to make it a symbol of stability, peace, and opportunity."
