EU spokesperson revealed

Luis Miguel Bueno, about the intensification of military support to Ukraine, at a time when observers expect a large-scale Russian offensive on Kiev by the spring
The war in Ukraine is entering a new turn as spring approaches, coinciding with the increase in Western military support over the past days, amid Russian warnings against considering it a "direct involvement" in the conflict
Bueno said:"one of the main developments that has taken place in Europe since the beginning of the Russian war on Ukraine last year is that the EU is militarily supporting a country outside the bloc to defend itself against unjustified aggression, this was done at the EU level but also through direct contributions from EU member states."
On the details of the support provided by the European Union to Ukraine during the next stage, Bueno explained:
In January this year, the European Union adopted its seventh package of military support amounting to 500 million euros, which means that the EU has so far provided Ukraine with 3.6 billion euros of military assistance
In addition, the EU is training the Ukrainian army through a specialized advisory mission
These efforts have one goal, which is to help Ukraine defend itself against the aggressor
The EU will continue to provide weapons and military assistance to Ukraine in the context of Article 51 of the UN Charter, which provides for the right of countries to defend themselves against aggression
We will also continue to support the initiative put forward by Ukraine to establish peace, therefore, we will insist on the two main elements: the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, and the inherent right of Ukraine to self-defense
We have not seen any real readiness from Russia on a just and sustainable peace, amid President Putin's quest to continue destroying Ukraine, that is why it is also important to work on accountability, and the task of this work is to preserve the crucial role of the International Criminal Court, as there is a broad consensus to establish an international prosecutor's office in The Hague
This comes at a time when Ukraine has shown its need for more military support, as president Volodymyr Zelensky called on the west to hand over more weapons and modern weapons systems to his country to face the difficult situation of its troops in the battles in the east of the country
As Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov stressed, the Ukrainian Defense Forces currently need"hundreds of thousands of marches with their various modifications"
Simultaneously, the Ukrainian Air Force launched 5 strikes on Russian military personnel and equipment groups, and two strikes on their anti-aircraft missile systems over the past 24 hours
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian troops, rocket and artillery units hit a command post, 3 groups of Russian military personnel, an anti-aircraft missile system and a fuel depot
