In a response to the decision of the European Parliament regarding

human rights in the country, the Moroccan parliament considered it an offensive campaign against the kingdom.

Today, the Moroccan parliament passed a resolution to reconsider relations with the European Parliament and subject them to a comprehensive assessment

The Moroccan parliament, with its two chambers (deputies and advisers), held a joint session in Rabat, during which the heads and representatives of various teams intervened.

A statement issued by the Parliament condemned what it described as a"campaign against Morocco", saying that it notes with "great surprise and indignation this recommendation, which destroyed the level of trust between the Moroccan and European legislative institutions and touched at the core of the positive accumulations that took several decades to complete".

The Moroccan parliament expressed regret for what it considered "compliance" by the European Parliament to some parties that it described as" hostile within it and luring it in their misleading campaign targeting an old and credible partner."

The recent recommendation of the European Parliament "constituted an unacceptable encroachment on its competencies and powers, and an unacceptable encroachment on the sovereignty of Morocco and the inviolability and independence of its judicial institutions," the statement said.

The Moroccan parliament said it categorically rejects what it considered "the tendencies of tutelage or receiving lessons from any party, regardless of the level of relations it has with the kingdom".

Based on the above, the Moroccan parliament has decided:

Reconsider its relations with the European Parliament and subject them to a thorough assessment in order to take appropriate and firm decisions.

Inform the presidency of the European Parliament of the minutes of this session, including the positions and interventions made by the chairmen and representatives of parliamentary groups and groups..

Inform the presidency of the European Parliament, too, of the decisions to be taken later.
