Kiev-January 14, 2023

Days after the announcement of the Slovak president, Susana shapotova،

For the first time officially joining seven citizens of her country to participate in the war on the side of Kiev on the side of the army, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a bill allowing foreigners to serve both in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard, including within the ranks of the "Azov" Battalion, which Moscow considers a terrorist organization.

Since the beginning of the war last February, Ukrainian President Volodymyr zelenskiy has called on the people of the European continent to help his country's Army in the face of Russian troops, saying: "anyone who wants to join the defense of Ukraine, Europe and the world, can come and fight alongside Ukrainians".

Mykola beliskov, a researcher at the Ukrainian National Institute for Strategic Studies, told RT that since the outbreak of the Russian war, many waves have already started arriving to fight alongside Ukrainian troops and prevent what he described as"Russian aggression" on their territory.

The researcher added that the decision of the last parliament was approved by 321 out of 450 deputies in Parliament, and its timing has many connotations.

Beliskov expected that this decision will contribute to encouraging the citizens of Europe to join the Army, because it legitimizes it, and the beginning was from Slovakia, and in the coming days more fighters will be announced in the ranks of the Ukrainian army, this decision is a general mobilization of external forces.

On the other hand, Russian military analyst Alexander artamatov described the Kiev Parliament's recent move on foreign fighters as "a decision that increases the intensity and duration of the conflict," stressing that this decision is a series of what he described as"provocations by the Kiev regime and its attempts in various ways to push the West and its citizens in direct confrontation with Russia.

Alexander artamatov added that the involvement of mercenaries in Ukraine has already begun to peak since last October, as documented by Russian intelligence, the participation of 1,853 fighters from Poland, 605 fighters from Canada, 544 from the United States, 504 from Romania, 429 from Britain, while 208 fighters from Belarus and 185 from France took part.

The Russian military analyst explained that the attraction and employment of "mercenaries" in any conflict turns into fuel that fuels and prolongs it, which has already been witnessed by several countries in the world such as Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria; accusing Washington and the west of helping in :

Alexander artamatov stressed that Washington provided support with money and weapons is no secret to anyone, and even trained new recruits to the Ukrainian army, contracted with private security companies and sent large numbers of fighters, up to thousands, and some European and Baltic countries - such as Lithuania and Latvia - issued emergency legal measures allowing individuals to join as fighters in the ranks of Ukraine.
