Two days after Paris revealed its plan to send light combat tanks to Kiev, to be the first time Western-designed tanks were sent to Ukrainian forces, America and Germany

announced their intention to supply Ukraine with armored combat vehicles, which analysts considered "Western attempts to pressure Moscow to accelerate the direction for a diplomatic solution."

Western military support came in contrast to Moscow's bets, which considered that after 10 months of the war and its economic and political repercussions, especially on Europe, the West was unable to finance Kiev with weapons.

The total amount of weapons and military equipment provided by Germany to Ukraine until last month amounted to more than two billion euros, which included the iris-t air defense system, 30 Gebhard air defense tanks, 2000 howitzer artillery, and multiple rocket launchers "March 2".

Last November, the US Department of Defense announced that the total cost of military support to Kiev amounted to 19.3 billion dollars, and EU foreign ministers also agreed in the middle of last month to allocate two billion euros to a fund used to pay for military support to Kiev.

According to a joint US-German statement, Berlin and Washington will provide the Patriot anti-aircraft battery for air defense.

According to US media, the armored vehicles to be sent, Marder infantry fighting vehicles, were developed by the German army more than 50 years ago, after Ukraine repeatedly requested to send Leopard main battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicles.

Foreign Minister Annalina berbuk and Vice-Chancellor Robert Habeck raised the possibility of making new military commitments to Ukraine, stressing that supplies will always be adapted to the requirements of the battlefield.

This comes hours after US President Joe Biden announced that his government is considering supplying Bradley armored personnel carriers, which resemble German Marder tankers, and so far only Soviet models have been delivered from Eastern European countries.

Over the past month, Ukraine has received anti-aircraft missiles, transport vehicles and armored vehicles from Western companies.

The announcement follows a French decision to supply Kiev with reconnaissance vehicles, described as AMX-10 RC "light tanks".

The Russian state agency "Tass" quoted the Russian ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov, that all the recent Western moves reveal that Washington has no desire for a political solution in Ukraine.

Antonov explained that there should be no doubt to anyone about who is responsible for prolonging the current conflict, pointing out that the weapons delivered to Kiev lack the defensive nature as the West claims.

However, he warned that America's decision to supply Ukraine with Bradley infantry fighting vehicles is a confirmation that it will not listen to repeated calls from the Russian side to take into account the possible consequences of such a dangerous course for Washington.

An effort to compound Russian dissatisfaction with the impact of the war, especially after the West's energy crisis was partially ended by equipping alternatives to Moscow's gas and oil.

Ukrainians are ready to fight hard to defend their land in light of the continued volume of US aid, in turn, Putin hopes for a quick big victory or hold out until 2024 to see the Republicans remove Biden from power after the Red Wave failed to control Congress.
