In order to support Ukrainians to get through the current winter, French President Emmanuel Macron said that France called for the Paris conference, stressing that only Kiev has the right to decide the peace conditions that will end the current war

Macron's speech came during the opening of the Paris conference in support of Ukraine in the French capital.

Here are the highlights of Macron's speech:

The Ukrainian people continue to hold out.

The restoration of Kherson proved the futility of the referendums conducted by Russia in Ukraine.

Russia's annexation of four Ukrainian regions was condemned by many countries of the world.

Russia's targeting of Ukrainian infrastructure is aimed at subjugating Ukrainians.

Ukraine is the victim, and it alone decides the terms of peace.

Currently there is an urgent need to support the Ukrainian people to hold out, therefore we called to this conference of solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

At the conference, We want to rally Ukraine's friends, partners and Human Rights stakeholders in order to provide material assistance to repair Ukraine's infrastructure and allow the Ukrainian people to get through this winter by providing energy, food and other supplies.

France has allocated 151 million euros since the beginning of the year to support Ukraine, and there are an additional 48 million within the framework of various goals.

There are another 76 million euros to subsidize electricity in Ukraine within the initiative provided by the European Union.

The Paris conference seeks to provide immediate assistance to the Ukrainian people, according to the agency "France Press", which noted that this meeting is aimed at neutralizing the strategy implemented by Russia since October, based on attacking civilian infrastructure.

The conference follows the Lugano, Warsaw and Berlin conferences, which were also dedicated to supporting Ukraine.
