During his speech on the sidelines of the meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Bucharest, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stressed that NATO countries are united in the face of the war waged by Russia on Ukraine, noting "Washington's success in narrowing the sources of financing for Russia".

Blinken added that the United States and Western countries have imposed unprecedented sanctions on Moscow and "will continue to put pressure on the Russian economy".

He also stressed that his country is helping Kiev to counter the targeting of energy infrastructure in Ukraine by Russian forces.

The US Secretary of state accused Russia of turning the Black Sea into a battlefield , and also noted that the United States continues to provide military support to the Ukrainian forces

He also blamed Moscow for causing the worst international food crisis.

In response to a question about his expectation of the outcome of the upcoming match between the US and Iranian national teams at the World Cup, Blinken expressed confidence in his country's ability to defeat the Iranian national team.

It is noteworthy that the Bucharest meeting comes to discuss the issue of supporting the energy sector on Ukrainian territory, after it was largely destroyed by intensive Russian strikes.

Since last October (2022), Moscow has adopted a new strategy in its strikes focused on infrastructure and energy sites, especially after the setbacks it faced in the East and south of Ukraine, including the withdrawal of its troops from Kherson, as well as the blows it received in the Crimea, which it annexed to its territory in 2014.
