In a telephone call today with Turkish President Ragab Tayyip Erdogan, Israel's Prime Minister Yair Lapid announced on Wednesday the return of the ambassadors of the two countries.
The Israeli Prime Minister's statement read: "Following the telephone call between Prime Minister Yair Lapid and Turkish President Ragab Tayyip Erdogan-Israel and Turkey, the ambassadors and consuls-general are recovering."
He added: "The resumption of relations with Turkey is an important asset for regional stability and very important economic human beings for Israel's citizens. We will continue to work to strengthen Israel's place in the world ".
He continued: "After the agreements reached during Prime Minister Yair Lapid's visit to Ankara and his meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Chawusoglu, and after the telephone call between Prime Minister and Turkish President Erdogan and in the light of the positive developments in relations between the two countries over the last year, the two countries decided to return to full diplomatic representation."
"It has been decided to re-upgrade Israeli-Turkish relations to reach full diplomatic representation with the return of the ambassadors and consulates general from both countries."
He highlighted: "The restoration of the level of diplomatic relations is a continuation of the positive trend in relations between the two countries over the past year."
The statement concluded: "This will contribute to deepening relations between the two peoples and to strengthening economic, trade and tourism relations between the two countries, as well as to strengthening regional stability."
