Following the disagreement between Iran and Western States on certain points of Iran's nuclear agreement, Foreign Policy Officer Josep Borrell presented a proposal to settle those differences relating to the agreement between the parties concerned
European Commission spokesman Peter Stano told a briefing: "Borrell has submitted a draft settlement for all parties on the JCPOA and the decision of the parties concerned is awaited following consideration of his proposal."
Stano said the time had come to take substantive decisions in the Iran nuclear deal, stressing the priority of all parties' return to full compliance with the agreement.
Iran's foreign ministry confirmed earlier this week that Tehran had shown great flexibility in the negotiating process, noting that the agreement depended on the political decision of the United States of America.
Iran has repeatedly asserted that it does not enrich uranium for the development of weapons of mass destruction, but only for civilian uses, and has stated that it can stop its breach of the 2015 nuclear agreement with world powers if the United States lifts sanctions and reverts to the agreement.
This comes as US President Joe Biden pledged to prevent Iran from "possessing a nuclear weapon" during his four-day trip to Israel and Saudi Arabia, at the end of which he met with a number of Arab leaders.
