A source has stated that an Indian state has passed a decision to close high schools because of the hijab controversy that drew the world's attention after Nobel Prize - winning Afghan activist Malala Yusuf Zay gave her opinion.
The decision was taken by the Government of the southern Indian state of Karanataka following the violence in student demonstrations against the backdrop of Muslim female students being prevented from wearing the hijab in the classroom.
Today, Wednesday, the State Supreme Court continues to consider the petition on behalf of Muslim students.
The source added that these developments occurred after protests started by six female students at a government high school to other schools, after which some Hindu students went to their schools wearing orange shawl - a color considered a Hindu symbol - protesting against Muslim female students wearing hijab, and "Malala Yusuf G" called on India's leaders to take action "to stop the marginalization of Muslim women."
