During a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron following a meeting in Kiev, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced that he expected a summit under the Normandy formula with the leaders of Russia, Vladimir Putin, France, Emmanuel Macron, and Germany, Olav Schultz, "as soon as possible."

"Today, our countries are developing cooperation in almost all areas, but our partnership in the area of security is particularly important," Zielinski said. France plays an active role in the Normandy formula. We highly value the official position of Paris and the personal efforts of Emmanuel Macron aimed at achieving peace in Ukraine. He's really doing a lot for it. "

Zelensky continued: "The peace process has been a central issue in our talks. We expect that, under the agreements reached during the Paris summit in December 2019, we will be able to hold a next round of negotiations between the leaders of the Normandy Quartet. "

The Ukrainian President added that he expected a meeting at the level of advisers to the leaders of the Quad Normandy States to be held during the coming days.

The work of the Normandy formula was launched in June 2014 with the aim of settling the ongoing conflict in the Donbass region of southeastern Ukraine and involving the Quartet of Ukraine, Russia, France and Germany.
