Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian said: "Today a new round of negotiations begins in Vienna and the agenda is the issue of safeguards and verification of the lifting of US sanctions in case of a return to agreement."

"What is most important to us is to reach a point where we can verify that Iranian oil will be sold easily and without any limits, that funds for such oil will be transferred in foreign currency to Iran's bank accounts, and that we will be able to benefit from all economic returns in different sectors."

Abdellahian said that the participants in the Vienna negotiations had agreed to add new remarks and points made by her negotiating delegation, headed by Ali Baqari, to the points discussed in the rounds between April and June.

"We have reached a common document on the nuclear issue, sanctions, today the first negotiations on this common document will begin," he explained.

It should be noted that six rounds of talks were held to revive the nuclear agreement, which was hit hard, following the withdrawal of the United States, between April and June, before it was suspended for about 5 months.

Late last November, negotiations resumed in a seventh round.

During the previous round, European diplomats spoke of "progress at the technical level," but the West, especially the United States, spoke of a shrinking margin of time to save the agreement.
