Confirming his country's readiness to resume diplomatic relations should Riyadh wish to do so, Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdel-Lahian announced, on Thursday, that a series of proposals would be submitted to Saudi Arabia.

This came during a press conference in Tehran with his Iraqi counterpart, Fouad Hussein, who said that the Saudi side had taken a positive view of Iran's proposals, "noting that delegations from both countries would soon meet in Baghdad.

Confirming the Kingdom's agreement to issue visas to three Iranian diplomats to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, he expressed his country's willingness to begin taking the necessary steps to reopen the Iranian and Saudi embassies in Riyadh and Tehran if the wish was shared.

On the death of the Iranian Ambassador to the Ansar Allah group in Yemen from a new corona virus, Abdulhayyan said: "We await a convincing response from Riyadh to the failure to transfer our ambassador from Yemen."

The Iranian Foreign Minister held Saudi Arabia responsible for the death of his Ambassador to the Sana'a Government, Hassan Erlo, who died of Corona virus.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia described Abdel - Lhian's statements as "offensive," noting that "the Coalition leadership began to facilitate the transfer of Hassan Erlo, an Iranian Revolutionary Guard officer, from Yemen on humanitarian grounds in recognition of the diplomatic mediation of his siblings in the Sultanate of Oman and Iraq less than 48 hours after his health was reported.
