During his reception to the Syrian ambassador in Tehran, Shafiq Diop, Mohammad Hosseini, Iran's parliamentary assistant president, said today that Americans and Westerners are seeking to put economic and political pressure on Syria to compensate for their military defeat.

This evening, FARS reported that Hosseini's statements, during which he confirmed that the Iranian government had included the development of cooperation with neighbouring countries, particularly Syria, as a priority, as an ally and strategic partner of Iran.

General Kassem Slimani, the late commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, was the link between the Iranian and Syrian peoples.

Hosseini stressed Iran's quest during the Syrian crisis to defend the Syrian people, and also drew Hosseini to good cooperation between his country and Syria under the late Syrian President, Hafez al-Assad, during the period of the Iraq-Iran War (1980-1988)

Considering the defeat of ISIS in Syria and Iraq as a result of the efforts of the resistance, the Iranian official revealed a wish to his country and its citizens regarding the visit of Mrs. Zainab and Mrs. Raqqiyah to visit after the return of normal conditions and the end of the Corona pandemic.
