After the European Union adopted a new package of sanctions against Minsk, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it would take firm and appropriate response measures.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: "Exclusively in reaction, as we said earlier, we will take firm and appropriate action."

She continued: "Blame for everything lies with the initiator of the aggressive sanctions of the European Union. We continue to urge European politicians to think again. "

She pointed out that such sanctions were aimed at strangling the country and destroying the Republic as an independent State.

She continued: "The European Union does not care about the suffering of tens of thousands of Belarusian citizens and family members, European consumers, suppliers, businessmen and corporations. Suffering means nothing to them when they want to play geopolitical or satisfy the pragmatic business interests of some European players. "

"This is why the sanctions include Belarusian companies, which have nothing to do with the migration crisis.

She stressed that the European Union had decided to impose new sanctions on Minsk, ignoring the real causes of the global migration crisis.

It will be recalled that the Council of the European Union today approved the fifth package of sanctions against Belarusian individuals and entities against the backdrop of the migration crisis at the border between Belarus and the Union.

The United States Treasury also announced a new package of sanctions against Belarus.
