Brigadier General Amir Ali Haji Zadeh, Commander of the Iranian Air Force, revealed why his country had acted logically following the assassination of the late Jerusalem Corps commander Kassem Salimani, in order to avoid a war with the United States of America.
Haji Zadeh said in a conversation with students at the Sharif University of Technology in Tehran. "After Slimani's assassination we could have identified several ways of confrontation, and one way was to start a large-scale war, in which case we would have to hit their bases in the region, and the clash would explode between us and them, and maybe this war would last for a month, and then we'd kill some Americans, and they'd kill thousands of civilians and military, and they'd strike back at the country that might bring Iran back 20 years ago.
"Our actions must be logical, because if we take action based on emotion, it is not clear that we will achieve acceptable results. We are not afraid, and you have seen that we have hit the Al-Assad base and their marching planes, and we have done other things we will not reveal right now. "
According to earlier statements by United States Central Command Commander Kenneth McKenzie, former United States President Donald Trump issued an order to assassinate Slimani, on the basis of intelligence reports that he was preparing attacks against American forces, embassies and bases in Iraq.
