Commenting on the presence of US and NATO vessels, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said, "What are US ships doing in the Black Sea thousands of miles from their bases? To say that this is all for freedom of navigation. This is all a game of fire, and this is another attempt to test our power. "
He also expressed his country's concern about the situation in the Black Sea and the provocations carried out by the United States and NATO in that region.
The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister told reporters: "We are really concerned about what is happening in the Black Sea region, this ongoing series of provocations by the United States, NATO allies and some of their agents in the region."
Earlier this week, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that NATO exercises in the Black Sea were linked to the intention of the United States and its allies to step up Russia's containment policy.
The US Sixth Fleet has previously posted pictures of its ships in the Black Sea on its Twitter page, and footage shows the flagship Mountain Whitney, the Porter destroyer and the Turkish frigate TCG Yavuz.
On 4 November, the forces and assets of the Russian Black Sea Fleet began to monitor the actions of the United States Navy flagship USS Mount Whitney, which had entered the Black Sea.
This comes as relations between Russia and NATO have been strained, recently, by the increased presence of the military alliance near the Russian border; This is a violation by Moscow of the basic document on relations with NATO.
