Bridging the renaissance and the Libyan crisis in the strategic dialogue between Shoukry and Plinken

In order to reach a binding legal agreement on the filling and operation of the Nahda Dam in a manner that would serve the interests of the three countries and safeguard Egypt's water rights, Sameh Shoukry, during a meeting with his United States counterpart, Anthony Plinkin, prior to the Egypt-United States strategic dialogue, stressed "the need to resume negotiations as soon as possible."
According to a statement by Egyptian Foreign Affairs, the meeting addressed the situation in Libya. My thanks confirmed the need to hold presidential and parliamentary elections on time for the end of this year and the importance of the departure of all foreign forces, mercenaries and combatants from Libyan territory.
The Ethiopian Expatriate Action Council pledged to defend Ethiopia by any means and cost and to achieve the construction of the Renaissance Dam, as heavy fighting in the country could end up entering the capital.
During the closing ceremony of the two-month visit to Ethiopia, the President of the Council said that the diaspora community was playing its crucial role for Ethiopian people to witness the changes and reforms in the country, adding: "We are prepared to defend our nation by any means and at any cost." He continued: "The dam is the hope of 120 million Ethiopian. Our resources will invest in the construction of the dam. "
Egyptian Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel - Ati said last Tuesday that Egypt is working on all the possibilities for the Renaissance Dam, creating infrastructure around the Aswan High Dam to absorb large amounts of water reaching Lake Nasser in a short time, should the Renaissance Dam collapse.
