Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has announced that U.S. President Joe Biden and senior U.S. officials have stressed to Russian leaders the importance of implementing the Minsk Agreements on the resolution of the conflict in southeastern Ukraine.

Lavrov said: During a press conference today "during the meeting between the two Presidents (Russian) Putin and (American) Joe) Biden in Geneva, as visited by U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Noland and CIA Director Robert Burns and in their contacts with Russian leaders, at all these meetings, the President of the United States and his subordinates explicitly emphasized the need to apply the Minsk Accords, including the special legal status of the Donterritory. "

Lavrov called on the United States to convince the Ukrainian leadership that the need to uphold the Minsk agreements was Washington's "must-respect" position, stressing that this could greatly facilitate the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.
