Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey still planned to buy a second batch of S400 missile defense systems from Russia, a move that led to US sanctions and

deepened the dispute with Washington.

Erdogan added in a television interview with a US channel that no one can interfere with NATO ally Ankara's defense systems.

Washington had warned more than once that Turkey's purchase of a second batch of S400 missiles would surely lead to new U.S. sanctions.

Erdogan confirmed last Thursday that the issue of the acquisition of the Russian S400 missile system was over for him and that "it is not possible to accept dictates."

Erdogan also said that Biden - who has repeatedly said that the promotion of democracy, rights and freedoms throughout the world is at the heart of his foreign policy - did not raise in their meetings issues relating to Turkey's human rights record.
