A major crisis arose between Washington and France due to the shipment of submarines cancelled by Australia after agreement with France, resulting in a major crisis between it and Washington

Some States have declared their support for Washington and others have attacked it.

For his part, European Union Foreign Minister Josep Burrell, at the beginning of his meeting with his American counterpart, Anthony Plinken, considered that the European Union and the United States should work to strengthen confidence in their post - crisis partnership between Washington and Paris.

"We can strengthen confidence between us," Burrell said, pointing to a "very turbulent week" in the corridors of the United Nations, whose General Assembly meetings began, while Plinkin declared that the two partners were already working closely throughout the world, including Afghanistan, the Indo-Pacific region and Europe.

Denmark, on the other hand, attacked the European Union, for standing alongside France in the diplomatic controversy over the submarine contract that Australia had retreated from.

Copenhagen defended US President Joe Biden, calling him "very loyal" to Europe despite facilitating his military agreement with Australia and Britain, known as "okus."

It is reported that Paris is angry that Australia cancelled its contract to purchase French - made submarines for nuclear-powered technology from the United States and the United Kingdom.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Fredriksen said: "I think it is important to say - given the talks in Europe now - that I see Biden as very loyal to the transatlantic alliance."

In an interview with the Danish newspaper Politiken, Frederiksen was asked if she understood the criticism from Paris and Brussels. She's angry: "No, I don't understand it, I don't understand it at all, it doesn't mean that we in the Danish government necessarily agree with the United States on everything, and we also said that we would have liked to see a different exit from Afghanistan, but I'm not frustrated with the American administration."

Denmark has been a longtime ally of Washington, sending troops to Afghanistan and Iraq, and regularly giving priority to NATO commitments on European defence issues.

"There is no doubt that (US President) Joe Biden is distancing US foreign policy from a very isolated position," Frederiksen said.

Washington was moving "to assume once again the role of global leadership, which only the United States can play," and "if the United States does not, no one can replace it."

Paris is pressing European Union States to support them in the dispute over the contract of suspended submarines with Australia.

Canberra agreed to buy 12 diesel and electric submarines from France worth £27 billion, but withdrew to join the military agreement with Washington and London known as the "Occos."

The European Union Commission has held talks on the possible consequences of this step and is already considering whether to cancel its trade talks with Australia and technical meetings with the United States.
