After a rapid and spectacular end to the 20 - year war in Afghanistan, on the first night of taking control of Afghanistan's capital, the victorious Taliban militants organized patrols to control security and prevent chaos on the streets of Kabul.

During the Taliban's victory ceremony, thousands of people gathered at the city's airport in an attempt to escape the hard-line group's rule, or perhaps to die in cooperation with the Western military coalition for the past two decades.

Although President Ashraf Ghani entered into negotiations with them, he fled the country suddenly, on Sunday evening, after gunmen surrounded the capital to celebrate the Taliban with a Gali military victory, taking control of all cities in just 10 days.

Rich then commented: "The Taliban have won with swords and guns and are now responsible for the honour and property of its citizens and for the preservation of their lives."

The Taliban had sought to reassure the international community that Afghans should not be afraid of them and would not retaliate against those who had supported the American alliance. In a message posted on social media, the Taliban co - founder, Abdul Ghani Pradar, called on his fighters to remain disciplined after taking control of the city.

He said: "Now is the time for testing and proof, and we must now show that we can serve our nation and ensure security and comfort in life."
