Within the "Anti - Terrorism and Syria Actions," the United States Treasury Department today announced the addition of eight individuals and ten entities to the United States sanctions list.

The sanctions included "branches of Syrian General and Military Intelligence," according to the Treasury Department website.

Reuters reported that the United States had blacklisted 8 individuals and 10 entities in separate counter-terrorism and Syria actions.

The Ministry imposed similar sanctions last December aimed at "discouraging future investment in government-controlled areas in Syria and committing Damascus to the UN operation in line with Council Resolution 2254."

The Ministry confirmed that the United States would continue to stand by the Syrian people.
