To discuss preparations for the 14 June NATO summit in Brussels in the presence of new US President Joe Biden. Today, the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of NATO met Tuesday.

The summit is supposed to focus on several key points, including the situation in Ukraine, Belarus, Afghanistan and the future of NATO itself, where foreign ministers stressed the need to develop a new concept for NATO.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said: "We all agree that the summit will provide us with a historic opportunity to promote transatlantic cooperation as well as to prepare allies for a more unpredictable world... There is broad support for the need to start working on the new strategic concept of NATO. Our strategic positions have changed significantly since 2010. "

Referring to increased investment, the Secretary-General of NATO said that all new ideas must be implemented. According to him. Stoltenberg noted that over the past seven years, Europe and Canada had increased military spending and said: "To maintain this level, more must be invested together because joint investment in NATO doubles our collective strength."

With regard to the training of the security forces in Afghanistan after the exit of the United States forces, the Ministers confirmed the readiness of NATO to fund the training of the Afghan security forces after the completion of the coalition's military mission in the region.

With regard to the plane crisis in Belarus, the Secretary-General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, said that the coalition was taking a common position on the plane accident in Belarus and supporting the sanctions announced by the European Union.
