A number of strategic experts, as well as urban development experts, have stressed that the Egyptian Gaza Reconstruction Initiative is a direct support for the security and stability of the stricken sector, adjacent to Egypt, which directly supports Arab national security and is an integral part of Egyptian national security.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al - Sisi announced, Tuesday, an "Egyptian initiative" to rebuild the Gaza Strip for $500 million during his discussions in Paris on Sudan and African issues with French President Emmanuel Macron and Jordanian King Abdullah II.

The Egyptian Initiative funds will be directed towards reconstruction as a result of the current attacks in Gaza, and Egyptian infrastructure companies and contractors will be involved in carrying out reconstruction operations in Gaza.

The Egyptian initiative coincides with intensive Cairo-led efforts to cease fire between Palestinian factions and between Israel, reach a calm agreement in Gaza and stop clashes between Palestinians and Israeli forces in the West Bank.

One strategic expert explains that the timing of the announcement of the Egyptian initiative before the end of the current fighting will lead the parties to calm down and move forward one step further. Coordination of participation in reconstruction will take a period of preparation before work begins on the ground, during which time the fighting will have ceased.
