Sisi recalled during the meeting: "Egypt is committed to putting an end to the violence as soon as possible and to reaching a just and comprehensive solution that guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of an independent State in accordance with international norms."

For his part, Macron said: "We appreciate the Egyptian role in trying to calm down and continue in consultation with Cairo in this regard."

El-Sisi began an official visit to the French capital, Paris, to participate in both the Paris Conference in Support of the Transition in the Sudan and the African Economic Finance Summit, which will take place on 17 and 18 May, respectively.

The official spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency stated that the participation of President Sisi was an invitation from President Emmanuel Macron of France, in the light of the close and growing relations between Egypt and France, as well as the weight that Egypt enjoyed on the African continent, thus contributing to international initiatives aimed at supporting African countries.
