Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the politicization of third parties discussions about the 1915 events and their transformation into an instrument of intervention against Turkey did no good for anyone, commenting on Washington's recognition of the Armenian extermination.

The Turkish President has said that we cannot allow the culture of co - living to disappear for hundreds of years between Turks and Armenians.

Erdogan added that what brings together Turks and Armenians is not interests but our close association with the State and the values and ideals themselves.

The White House announced that U.S. President Joe Biden had officially acknowledged the Armenian genocide in the Ottoman Empire.

During his campaign, Biden had pledged to recognize the genocide of Armenians, stressing that human rights issues would be the priority of his administration's policies.

t should be noted that former US President Ronald Reagan used the term "genocide" to talk about these events in 1981, but later retracted his statements after an angry reaction from Turkey.

Former President Barack Obama, with Biden as his deputy in 2008, also promised to call the persecution of Armenians "genocide," but did not deliver on his promise during his eight years as president.
