During his visit to Greece, the President of the new Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed in exile, confirmed that he had made "every effort" to "leave all foreign militias" in his country.

During his meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the exiled said: "We will make every effort to ensure the sovereignty and independence of Libya associated with the final exit of all militias from my country."

The President of the Presidential Council confirmed that discussions had taken place on the subject "to achieve the goal of leaving the militias," according to a statement in Greek by the Mitsotakis office.

The Greek Prime Minister promised support in the reconstruction of Libya, stressing that the "necessary condition" for a political solution in the country was "the departure of all (foreign) forces from Libyan territory" in the light of the elections scheduled for the end of the year.

He also stressed the intention of the two Mediterranean countries to address "vital issues along the lines of maritime delimitation" in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The exiled visit to Athens comes a week after Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his Foreign Minister, Nikos Dendias Tripoli, visited to announce the reopening of the Greek Embassy in the Libyan capital.
