The US Navy has said it will conduct major naval exercises, along with Belgium, France and Japan, in the Middle East, amid tensions over Iran's nuclear program in the region.
The group's exercise on "War in the Arabian Sea" is testimony to the fact that ships from the four countries conducted exercises in the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman.
The ships involved include the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, as well as the amphibious assault ship USS McKean Island.
The Belgian frigate Leopold and the Japanese destroyer Ariaki would also participate, as well as aircraft from the four countries.
The exercises come as Iran abandoned all restrictions of its 2015 nuclear agreement with world powers following President Donald Trump's 2018 decision to unilaterally withdraw from the agreement.
President Joe Biden expressed his desire to return to the agreement if Iran complied with the limits of its nuclear programme.
However, tensions remain high after militias in Iran - backed Iraq continued to target American interests.
Last month, Biden launched an air strike directly across the border to Syria in response, joining every US president from Ronald Reagan and beyond who ordered the bombing of countries in the Middle East.
