Today Wednesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the Russian Ambassador in Washington, Anatoly Antonov, had been summoned to Moscow to consult and analyse the future of Russian - American relations, noting that Moscow is interested in preventing the deterioration of relations with Washington.

The Russian Foreign Affairs Statement stated in this regard: "The Russian Ambassador in Washington was invited to Moscow for consultations aimed at analysing what needs to be done and where relations with the United States are headed, the new United States Administration in power almost two months ago. The symbolic limit of 100 days after the assumption of power is close, which is a good reason to try to assess what Joe Biden's team has been able to do."

The statement continued: "It is important for us to identify ways of rectifying Russian-American relations that are in a difficult situation, which Washington has over the past years brought to a standstill. We are interested in preventing their irreversible deterioration if Americans realize the associated risks. This will be discussed during discussions between the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other stakeholders with the Russian Ambassador in Washington.

Washington accused Moscow of meddling in the US election, with US President Joe Biden calling his Russian counterpart a "murderer," stressing that he would "pay for his intervention in the recent US presidential election."

Biden pointed out that during a conversation in January, he warned his Russian counterpart about the possible consequences.

An American intelligence report on external threats to the 2020 election claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin had authorized efforts to undermine then-Democratic candidate Joe Biden (current President).
