The US President, Joe Biden, described his Russian counterpart as a "murderer," stating that he would "pay for his intervention in the recent US presidential election."
"I agree that Russian President Vladimir Putin fought and will pay the price for his interference in the American election," Biden said in an interview with ABC News, broadcast Wednesday.
Biden pointed out that during a conversation in January, his Russian counterpart warned of possible consequences.
A U.S. intelligence report on external threats to the 2020 election claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin authorized efforts to undermine then-democratic candidate Joe Biden (current President).
Moscow has repeatedly denied such American allegations, and Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier that Washington consistently accuses Moscow of interfering in its internal affairs without evidence.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also announced that there was evidence that Russia did not interfere in the American elections, and the Special Representative of the President of Russia on International Cooperation in the Field of Information Security, Andrey Krutskikh, told Comersant that the United States was impeding the publication of such evidence.
